I was born in Penryn, Cornwall, in 1964 and inspired to paint by my dear old Dad when given some old paints, a brush and card when I was 8 years old. From that moment on I was hooked. Self-taught and self-employed since 2000, my first solo exhibition was at the Picture House Gallery, St Ives in 1998.
I have been fortunate to have many more exhibitions since, including Truro Cathedral, Fowey, Padstow, Penryn, St Ives, Marazion, Falmouth Art Gallery ands a retrospective in 2012 at the Snigg Gallery in Sheffield organised by the late, great Paul Vibert. Paul championed my art following our first meeting in 1998, a 22 year friendship was forged and lots of art-related anecdotes ensued.
Everything inspires me and sometimes a little gem will capture my attention and feature in my work more than once. I use a very wide variety of materials in both my painting and sculpture.
