Linda Slade was born in 1948 and was largely influenced creatively by the 1960s. Born in London, she grew up in south Wales and after having an artwork accepted by the Royal West of England Academy, she obtained art tuition and settled in Cornwall in 2012. She works from a studio in her house overlooking Mounts Bay. Her work has been widely exhibited in Cornwall and she is a regular exhibitor at STISA open shows.
"I love oil paint. It is the movement, the spontaneity, the potential for revision which engages me. I love mixing paint, scraping back. I listen to music; but I don't hear it some of the time when I stand at the easel. So silence is important too, and plays some role in the resolution of a painting".
