Angie Seaway

Angie’s paintings are a celebration of Britain’s obsession with the weather. She lives just minutes from the East Devon coastline and the influence of the ever changing elements on the Devon landscape guide her work. Her painting reflects the dual impact of the weather on the landscape she is portraying and her emotional and expressive reaction to it. All the titles are derived from snippets of daily weather forecasts and are as both descriptive and evocative as the paintings themselves.
Angie works in a dynamic way always starting to paint ‘en plein air’, out in the environment .Paint is layered over lines of charcoal and ink, and the subtlety of the paint infuses through the prior mark making.

She is always seeking to capture paintings that are full of movement and vigour. Her final pieces are made up of many layers of paint, inks and other media, resulting in works full of rich textures. Angie Seaway began painting in her thirties and went onto study Fine Art at Plymouth University. She has had many solo and group shows across the Southwest including a solo show at the RAMM in Exeter. She sells her work both internationally and in the UK.
