Edith Isabel Barrow (1865-1930)

She was born at Grange House, Bermondsey on May 4, 1865.  She was christened at St. Giles, Camberwell on June 21, 1865.  She was the eldest of 8 siblings.  Her father James Barrow was a tanner as was his father John who originally came from Bratton Flemming in North Devon.  

Her Uncles Samuel and Reuben Barrow initially founded the leather firm of Barrow Bros which eventually became Barrow and Hepburn, one of the world's leading leather firms.  

She died at Beech Hill Nursing Home, Fort Hill, Barnstaple on Feb. 13, 1930 and she lived her last years at Woodlands, Combe Martin in an end of terrace cottage that formerly belonged to her parents James and Edith Barrow.

She exhibited at the R.A. in 1907, 1911, 1914, 1918, 1919 and 1926.
